HAUSU is a HOUSE.

Here is a single home. There is a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator. A flush toilet, a bathroom with a shower. A bed, of course. And in the small living room, various works are displayed. When you arrive, it becomes your home.

It is a GALLERY.

In the small living room, an exhibition made just for you. The arrangement changes with each visitor. Which means this space belongs neither to the artist nor to the gallery. It belongs to you. Billions of possible combinations. No exhibition ever happens twice.

It is a CAFE.

Works are on display. On the table, tea and snacks. Wine or whisky, if you like. Conversation that wanders and finds its way back.

Time to let curiosity scatter, and then settle somewhere unexpected.

HAUSU is a small single-story house in the northern part of Yamanashi Prefecture. It is a gallery by appointment only.

At HAUSU, we exhibit exclusively for those who have made a reservation. One group per day. No time limit. From the works held at HAUSU, we present an exhibition tailored to that person, at that moment. Which means by the time the next guest arrives, everything has already changed. Everything is in motion.

The exhibition space is, above all, a living room. The walls are not pure white. There is a table with chairs and cups. You can hear birds. Light comes through the windows. Wind passes through.

Not so much a time to concentrate on looking at works, but to gaze at them. To experience what it means for art to exist inside everyday life.
